On September 24, 2017 the Outreach Chefs attended Great Commission Unity Church located on 1044 Strickland Bridge Rd. Fayetteville, NC 28304 for a Men in Black event.
The church men was asked to sow a seed of $20 each or what they could give to help the Outreach Chefs raise money to provide the supplies for homeless men and women during the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Outreach Chefs is an organization that loves to give back to the community and to help impact the lives that God has placed in our paths. This was the second event the Outreach Chefs helped with. Previously, the Outreach Chefs was located at St. Luke AME Church off of 522 Hillsboro st. Fayetteville, North Carolina 28301 for a back to school event.
(From left to right) Gidget Wilson, Angela Tyson, Yasmin Scott, and Tina Sanders helped with serving the food to the members after the service was over.
The cooks, Jarvis Kelley and Donald Martin was able to create a delicious meal for the members to enjoy.
The menu contained fried chicken, a roll, and Donald’s famous seafood salad.

Yes, Dollar General has PENNY ITEMS! They will not be marked as a penny so I think of it as a game of hide and go seek!
*Please, do not bring up to the workers at Dollar General or ask where the penny items are, they will not tell you!*
Now, September 12,2017 is the first time I started penny shopping and I must say it is addicting! Once you see that you can grab items in Dollar General and have them for just ONLY a penny you will be amazed at how much you can save!
These are just a few things that I have got so far from penny shopping:
I know, it seemed too good to be true right? This is a REAL thing, and when the items ring up to a penny the workers HAVE to give you what is in your cart! But if you do experience any troubles, please call Corporate and explain the situation.
Now, let me give you a little inside information on how I was able to begin penny shopping!
#1 Penny Finder
The Penny Finder app has been the biggest reason why I could find penny items! This app includes codes, and pictures of items that you can find in your local Dollar General for only a penny! I was able to use this app to score big time and you receive information on when certain items will drop to a penny! Keep in mind, some items in the store have not been discovered yet, so there is a possibility there are items that are marked as a penny that no one else knows about! This app is only $1.99 and you will be saving TONS of money!
If you have realized it or not, Dollar General items normally have different shapes under the price (for example: green dot, red dot, gray star, gold star etc.) THEY ALL MEAN SOMETHING!
I am still learning about penny shopping so you have to do your research on what each symbol means.
On the back of each barcode there is also a code. You may see a (FA16, FW16, S11) THESE CODES MEAN SOMETHING as well! You have to pay close attention to the symbols and dots.
For example, you can find a pink dot with a FW16 on the back. Certain dots WILL NOT discount, while others will. Now, time to let you in on a secret… I tend to get the BEST luck with picking up grey dots with a FW or FA code on the back in the shoes. When penny shopping, PLEASE remember that the year on the tag must be from a previous year (I.e: FA11,FW16) for it to be considered as a penny!
This is all for now! I will share more information once I gain more knowledge on penny shopping.
Thank you for reading my post!
Now never in a million years did I think I would start couponing! Couponing is hard work and can be very time consuming. I loved walking into the store and seeing my boyfriend’s mom be able to work the coupons into her favor and save TONS of money! I was able to save $36.20 in two days of couponing! She inspired me and taught me a lot about it and before I go into how I was able to save, let me give you a few tips about couponing.
Tip #1: PATIENCE!
I can not stress this enough! Patience is the key to couponing, do you know why? Because you can have a million coupons in front of you but if you do not know how to work them into your favor, you will be wasting your coupons just to pay for the item full price.
Tip #2: Have something portable that you can use to carry your coupons around.
Now, sometimes depending on how many coupons you have it can be very hard to tote around a whole bunch of coupons around the store. I started putting coupons in my little black binder so that it would be easier for me to carry around and for my coupons to be more organized.
Tip #3: BRACE YOURSELF! You may end up in the store for awhile.
Remember I said you have to have patience? This is a part of why you must have patience. You may be able to go in and walk right out but sometimes, couponing is like a word search puzzle but with prices. You have to search for the prices and the different coupon deals you have to use for the items listed. With that being said, IT TAKES TIME! So if you are like me and get antsy with being in the store more than five minutes, you have to learn how to be patient to get the job done.
Now let’s talk about what I did to save $8.55 on my first attempt couponing.
1. Phone Apps
This is very important because a phone app can let you digitally download coupons right to your cellphone! This is convenient so that when you get to the register, all you have to do is type in your cellphone number and the register takes the coupons off of your phone for you so that you do not have to search and look for them!
As you can see, on my phone I have the Dollar General, CVS, Food Lion, and Family Dollar app downloaded on my phone.
On each phone app, you will have to sign up so that you can save the coupons to the app.
When I saved $8.55, I used my Dollar General app.
Once you get signed in, you want to make sure “all coupons” is highlighted in blue. Once you see a coupon you like, press the yellow “+” symbol to add it to your coupons.
When you ‘clip’ all of your coupons, they will go into a “my coupon” folder. Once you have had all the coupons you wanted into your coupons folder, you are ready to shop!
2. Grab a store catalog
When you first walk in, you will see a catalog on your left or right side (depending on what store you go to) of all of the items on save for the week. Now to really save, you want to see if the items you have a coupon for are on sale. Now, a little disclaimer: Just because you have a coupon for it, does not mean you have to
but it! Nor does it mean for you to buy it right then and there. Some stores will have the SAME coupon but the product might be CHEAPER at a different store! For example: I have the same coupons for gain products for Dollar General and Family Dollar but, when I checked the pricing of the same product it was different. Family dollar wanted about TWICE as much as Dollar General for the SAME product! So I stuck with getting my gain products from Family Dollar. Again, you have to go into the stores and basically PRICE MATCH the items you are looking into buying. Something at Family Dollar may be cheaper at Dollar General or vice versa. So PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE price match BEFORE trying to use your coupons up first.
Some of the products will be listed as a “hot sale” with a low price and adding a coupon with it will drop the price down even more!
On September 5,2017 I went to Dollar General to coupon my FIRST time. With all the coupons and sales they had, I was able to save $8.55. Not bad for a rookie!
This is all of the things that I bought and paid $5.33 for all of this! The Purex laundry detergent was on sale for $3.00 and I used a $2.00 off coupon to knock the price down to $1.95. Dawn dish detergent was $0.25 off making it $.75. Crest toothpaste was $3.00 and I had a coupon to take $2.00 off so it came out to be $1.00. Gain was on sale for $3.50 with a $2.00 off coupon making the cost 1.50. I got an extra discount from my digital coupons and basically paid only $.72 for it! I had a paper coupon with the Renuzit air fresheners which was $1.50 for two but at the register it was $.90 each so if knocked it down to $.60 each!
On September 9,2017 I did two separate transactions. Dollar General was having a sale on gain $5 off of $30 purchase of gain. With all of the coupons on my phone and paper coupons I was able to save $18. and I only had to pay $14.46!
I was able to save A LOT of money on this gain sale! I had a $5.00 off of $30.00 purchase PLUS I had a coupon for each item I purchased! The fabric softener was on sales for $3.50 (regular price was $7.95) it took off $2.00 from the app and it took an extra $2.00 off the whole sale so I basically got it for FREE! With one of the gain detergents the coupons took off $7.28 with the price being $7.95 so I paid $0.67 for one gain detergent! My other fabric softener came up to $2.94. The other gain detergent took off $1.28 leaving the price to $6.67. I got two Febreeze gain air fresheners with a but two save $3.00 coupon which made it $1.50 each. The dish detergent was originally $2.00, I had a coupon for and it that took off $0.25 but with the $5 off of $30 the discount for the item came up to $1.65 off which made the gain dish detergent $0.35!
My other purchase consisted of body wash, hair care, dish detergent, toothpaste, and air fresheners.
The Dawn dish detergent was for $2.50 but with my Dollar General app coupons it came up to be $1.59. The Caress body wash was on sale for $2.50 but I used a dollar off coupon so it came up to $1.50 each. The mane and tails was on sale for $2.50 each and I used a $.50 off coupon to lower the price to $2.00 each. Crest toothpaste had a $2.00 off coupon making it $1.00. I had a paper coupon for the Renuzit air fresheners which was buy 3 get one free which is still on a $.90 each price. After adding all of these coupons together, I also had a $3.00 off of $15 purchase. With all of the discounts added together, I was able to sale $9.40!
I really enjoyed learning how to coupon and will definitely continue to do so! I thank you all for taking the time out to read my blog, write a comment below if you have any questions!

Now when you first go natural sometimes it can have you overwhelmed due to your new texture of hair. You often try to search on Google for hairstyles that most of them seem to be for people who have been natural for a while.
When I first did my big chop four years ago I had no idea what to do with my hair. I did not know about using natural oils, protective styling, none of that! Thankfully, over the four years I have been able to put together my go to hairstyles which I can have more of a variety with my hair and they are as followed:
1. Two-strand Twist
This one is one of my favorite go to hairstyles because I get to twist it up and leave it alone as long as I please. I am able to wash my hair in the twist and add a headband with it if I do please.
Con: Now the only thing about this hairstyle that I do not like it that over time your ends can tend to “lock up” if you leave the style in for awhile. Plus, this hairstyle takes up more time than a more simpler hairstyle would.
Now with my frohawk, I normally do it on an old twist out (probably about two days old). Very simple hairstyle, you just place bobby pins on each side (I normally use about four) pulling the sides up into a Mohawk.
Con: your curls may not be very defined do to it being an old twist out. You can use gel on clean hair to make your curls more defined but it can weight your hair down. When I like to define my curls I normally use Ecostyler gel Olive Oil. But if you want to use a more natural product I also use Kinky Curly Curl Custard Gel which is a NATURAL styling gel which the links will be below.
Olive Oil Gel
Kinky Curly Curl Custard Gel
3. Two braids and a ponytail
With this hairstyle I recently tried out on an old braid out but can be used on clean hair as well. I parted the front as if it was a bang and parted it in half to do the plaits.
I pulled the back of my hair up into a ponytail on top of my hair to create the puff. If you want to style it up a bit, add a cute scarf.
4. French braids
Another cute simple style is French braids. This hairstyle I have recently been using as a protective hairstyle. It can give you a more classy or elegant look.
Con: it will be a little difficult at first if you do not know how to French braid.
5. Twist out updo with a scarf
If I want to spice up my hairstyle, this is a hairstyle I will go to. I like this hairstyle because I feel it gives a more classic look with a scarf to make the hairstyle pop!
Cons: This style requires a lot of bobby pins to hold the back of your hair up so the bobby pins may feel a little uncomfortable.
6. Afro puffs
Another favorite of mine when I do not have my twist in! These are not just for little girls but can make a very cute yet fun look for any outfit!
Con: Some people may think it is not ‘professional’ but it all depends on who is in charge.
7. Braid out
This hairstyle I use when I have my hair out for a couple of days and do not want to do a wash day but I want a style done to my hair. This can be an easy cute simple hairstyle as well.
Con: sometimes, my braid outs do NOT come out the way I want it to look always. Sometimes it looks like the picture above or it can come out into a wavy look depending on how much product is on my hair.
8. Twist Mohawk
This style consist of flat twist and the two-strand twist. It is twisted into a Mohawk and some in the front for a very cute look!
Con: maybe you are kind of like me and it not really into using gel on your hair. Also, this style may need a professionals help which means more money out of your pocket if you can not twist.
This hairstyle was my go to for awhile now! I love this hairstyle and is one of the most simple hairstyles out of all of the above! Sometimes after a braid out of twist out if I leave my hair alone for a few days after, my hair will revert back to an Afro.
Con: Depending on your preference, some people like to comb it out into an Afro which can become extra work to maintain the perfect ‘Afro’ but with me, I simply let my Afro do it’s own thing.
10. Twist out
Another cute hairstyle I love to do after I am tired of my twist! It gives your hair some extra fluff to it with little crimps.
Con: just like the braid out, it may not always come out the way you want it to! I have had many fail attempts to my twist outs but I tend to rock it either way it looks.
11. Afro pulled back
If an Afro is not quite your style, the afro pulled back with a headband can help! It is still a cute style and makes your Afro puff look HUGE for a more bolder look.
Con: You MUST make sure your hair is moisturized so that your hair will cooperate with the headband. You can also use a scarf with this hairstyle to add a little more style to it like the picture below!
Thank you for reading my blog! Comment below YOUR favorite natural hairstyles!
Now one thing ladies is that we do not want dry, flaky chapped lips! Especially if you are around your crush, significant other, or husband. You want to feel confident, beautiful, and certain that your lips are in tip top shape! Besides, who said you can’t pamper yourself from time to time? Every women deserves to feel beautiful the way God made us so why not give ourselves a little pamper? If you are thinking of what I am thinking, let me go a little further for you.
Now, your trying to figure out how to get SOFT JUICY LIPS right? And I’m not talking about doing a Kylie Jenner challenge either! A TWO product system to help you achieve the soft juicy lips you’ve been looking for, yes it does exist!
Mary Kay sales a Satin hands just for hands and a Satin Lips line which can be used for your lips. It is very appropriate that the name of the product has the word “satin” in it due to the way it makes your lips feel, but for this blog, we are just going to focus on the Satin Lips Shea Sugar Scrub and Satin Lips Shea Butter Balm.
I will go into the different steps I take to exfoliate, moisturize and achieve SOFT JUICY LIPS using Mary Kay’s Satin Lips Shea Sugar Scrub and Satin Lips Shea Butter Balm!
Step 1: Apply!
First you want to squeeze a small amount onto your finger to apply to your lips.
When you do this, you want to rub the Shea Sugar Scrub in a circular motion on your lips top and bottom lip similar to this.
Bottom lip on both sides using the circular motion.
And the top lip with a circular motion as well.
Until your top and bottom lip is fully covered!
While you are massaging the Shea Sugar Scrub onto your lips, you will feel the sugar scrub working to remove the dead skin that is on your lips to give you hydrated lips afterwards. If you never used a sugar scrub before, it may remind you of rubbing sand on your lips. But do not worry, this is one thing you will LOVE the benefits from using this product!
Step 2: Gently Wipe the product off
After I am done exfoliating my lips I take a wash cloth and GENTLY wipe the Shea sugar scrub off. You do NOT want to apply too much force to your lips because it may also harm the new exfoliated skin as well.
Then you just GENTLY wipe it off with your wash cloth.
Once you wipe the Sugar Scrub off of your lips, you will realize your lips will feel smoother and have a natural healthy look to them.
Step 3: MOISTURIZING TIME!!!
Once you have finished wiping off the Shea Sugar Scrub, you want to follow up with a Shea Butter lip balm!
When applying the Shea Butter Lip Balm, you do not have to put on a lot of product.
Just squeeze out a small amount of product and apply to top and bottom lip.
Step 5: MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!
Now that we have moisturized our lips, enjoy JUICY SOFT LUCIOUS Lips!
Do you want to achieve Soft lips? Below is a way you can order these products online!
Thank you for reading!
We all have our own face products that we use on a daily bases. Some of our face products gives us a somewhat clean feeling while others may leave our faces feeling greasy still or can be very drying! Is there a product that wouldn’t dry my face out as bad but yet give me a clean feeling? If you are asking that simple question, I know a product just for you.
Now lately everyone has been looking for the Charcoal black mask and in many YouTube videos it can seem very painful for the users. You just want the benefits of cleaner skin without the pain right? Well, this Bioré free your pores! CHARCOAL! Deep pore charcoal cleanser maybe a product you will be interested in.
I actually started using this product in the search for the charcoal mask (all I could find was the nose strips and the one for men’s which I will do a review on using it on my boyfriend later on). But in my search, I discovered this product and I have been using it ever since! I use the product twice a day (in the morning and at night) and it gives my skin a clean but not a drying feeling that at times I do not use a moisturizer afterwards.
As you can tell, I use this product A LOT! The Charcoal in the face wash DRAWS OUT dirt and impurities to give you a fresh clean feeling so it does not feel like the product residue is still on your face. There are a few steps that I take to make sure I receive that nice clean feeling!
First thing first!
Step 1: Make sure you wet your face first!
I usually use a wet wash cloth to wipe on my face first before applying the product. The product itself implies it and I feel it works better if you wet your face first.
Step 2: Squeeze a nice amount of product into your hands.
Now as you can see in the picture on the left, it has little Charcoal powder pieces in the product. Before I put the product on my face, I tend to add a little water to the product (picture on the right) so that the product will not feel like a glob of face cleanser on my face!
Step 3: Apply face cleanser
As you can see, it does not seem as if there is a lot of product on my face. Me personally, this is all I needed. Even with this amount of product I still get the full benefits of the face cleanser! Once I place it on my face I automatically feel it working by the product tingling on my face. It really feels the Charcoal is trying to clean the dirt out of your pores while you just sit there and let the product do all the work. I let the product sit for one minute but you can leave it on longer if you choose to do so.
Step 4: Wash face cleanser off of your face.
Now that you let the product do work its powers, you gently wipe the product off in a circular motion going up and around back.
Step 5: GORGEOUS FEELING SKIN!
And there you have it! Gorgeous feeling skin without the dry feeling!
It can be hard to come across a product that can fit your needs but this is by far one of the best products I have used for my face. After this one runs out, I will definitely have to buy another one. We all want soft with a fresh clean face don’t we? PLUS this product can be used for men and women!
If you want to take a change at a soft fresh clean feeling, you can order the product from the link below!
Thank you for stopping by and have a blessed week!
